Teleport[ | ]

Description[ | ]

The teleport effect can be used to move one unit to another position instantly.

Hints[ | ]

Example Usage[ | ]

Blink[ | ]

The Stalker's 'Blink' ability is an example of a teleport effect, where the Stalker is teleported to a target point.

Mass Recall[ | ]

The Mothership's 'Mass Recall' ability is another example of the teleport effect, where a Search Area effect is hooked up to a teleport that teleports the target units to the caster unit's position.

Fields[ | ]

Effect - Chance[ | ]

  • The chance of the effect happening. A value of 0.5 in this field would mean the teleport has a 50% chance of being executed.

Effect - Clear Order Queue[ | ]

  • When enabled, the teleport clears all previous orders in the unit's order queue.

Effect - Source - Effect[ | ]

  • The effect used for determining the location whose distance from the Target - Target is compared to the minimum distance.

Effect - Source - Value[ | ]

  • The unit/point used for determining the location whose distance from the Target - Target - Effect/Point is compared to the minimum distance.
  • For the Mothership's Mass Recall, this is the point where the ability is targeted.
  • As long as it is not the same as the Target - Target - Point, it should work fine.

Effect - Teleport Flags[ | ]

Assuming that the unit cannot fly or walk over like the colossus, these flags will prevent the teleport and have their proper placement error messages if the teleport if the parent effect of the ability.

  • Test Cliff: (Unsure) Until tests show what it does, it is used by Stalker's Blink.
  • Test Fog: If there is fog behind an obstacle (such as a cliff wall), the teleport will decline. If the unit can walk there directly without getting around the obstacle, it will pass, even if fogged.
  • Test Zone: (Unknown)

Target - Placement Arc[ | ]

  • The arc in which the teleporting unit can be placed if the target point is invalid.

Target - Placement Around Effect[ | ]

  • Similar to Target - Target - Effect, the unit/point (depending on the Target - Placement Around Value field) of the effect in this field will be used as the unit/point where the teleporting unit can be placed if the target point is invalid.

Target - Placement Around Value[ | ]

  • The unit/point where the teleporting unit can be placed if the target point is invalid.

Target - Placement Range[ | ]

  • The range from the target point that the teleporting unit can be placed if the target point is invalid.

Target - Range[ | ]

  • You can usually leave this field at the default value of 500 and just change the range of the ability if you want to limit range.

Target - Target - Effect[ | ]

  • The effect used as a frame of reference so the target of that effect is used as the target of the teleport.
  • Look at the Mothership's Mass Recall ability if you're stuck on this field.

Target - Target - Value[ | ]

  • The unit/point where the teleporting unit will teleport to.
  • Use Target Unit/Point if you want an ability like the Stalker's Blink.
  • Use Caster Unit if you want something like the Mothership's Mass Recall.

Unit - Unit - Effect[ | ]

  • Similar to the Target - Target - Effect field, the target/caster (depending on the Unit - Unit - Value) of the effect placed in this field will be used as the teleporting unit in the teleport effect.

Unit - Unit - Value[ | ]

  • The unit that will be teleported when the effect is called.
  • Use Caster if you want an ability like the Stalker's Blink.
  • Use Target if you want an effect like the Mothership's Mass Recall.
